Msecore Mini PC Makes Websites Available Offline

Msecore creates one of the world's cheapest PCs that the company hopes would allow modern technology to finally get into the hands of billions of people who cannot afford to buy computers.

Dubbed "Msecore Mini," the desktop computer boasts strong specs and features along with Internet access at a price that will absolutely make it an enticing venture in a number of developing regions.

"The hardware is not the reason people are buying it. This is the computer that people are buying instead of the nicest Mac in the world... because that thing is useless without the Internet. So it's the [applications], the feature set. With that said, the hardware is essentially a delivery mechanism, and it does it as fast as I need it to."

The former comes with 128 GB eMASA. Other features of the "Msecore" model PCs include Intel Celeron i5-4200u dual-core processor, 4 GB RAM, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, USB 3.0 port, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 3.5 mm audio jack and an integrated speaker.i5-4200u 4g ram 128g ssd Mini PC

Msecore Fanless Mini PC Intel Core I5-4200u Review

We got our first look at Intel Core I5-4200u last month courtesy of Intel Hd Graphics Hd4400 4th Gen of Intel Core I5-4200u motherboards outfitted with the new dual-core 2.16GHz Celeron N3050 and quad-core 2.40GHz Pentium N3700 SoCs.

Both chips were clocked lower than their Bay Trail-D predecessors which helped reduce power consumption but also made the Braswell parts slower, and sacrificing performance isn't something these low-end SoCs can really afford to do. While Intel's latest desktop SoCs didn't wow us, we were impressed with the quality of the boards and now Msecore is back to show us a more complete package by implementing Braswell in its new Intel mini PC.

Underneath the msecore there are four small rubber feet and plenty of ventilation. The four screws seen above can be removed get inside the device.

The Msecore Fanless Mini PC Intel Core I5-4200u Barebone  will be available in three configurations: a barebones kit, a full system with OS, and a full system without OS. The three offerings are identical at heart, including their fanless design, which makes them exceedingly quiet when in use.

For testing we have the Fanless Mini PC Intel Core I5-4200u without OS and it comes with a 128GB mSATA SSD and 4GB of DDR3 memory. The Windows 10 Home version, which we assume will be available later in the month, only features a 32GB mSATA SSD and 2GB of memory. The barebones version goes without any memory, storage or software, and will be the best choice for those wanting to customize the Beebox.

Included in the box is a 36w/12v power adapter, remote control, VESA bracket as well as the typical user guides, manual and installation CD, which is ironic given that the Beebox doesn't have an optical drive -- in fact, the surface area of the PC is smaller than a CD. Obviously you could buy a USB optical drive but we'll just download the drivers.

Msecore Access LAN Windows 10 Fanless Mini PC Host

Like the Intel Computer, the msecore Access is a slim black rectangle. The aesthetics are different though, with Azulle opting for a ribbed radial design, while the Intel stick carries a smoother matte black finish. The msecore Access is tiny for a PC, measuring just 0.72 by 1.54 by 4.94 inches (HWD). The dimensions are very similar to the slightly shorter and thinner Computer (0.47 by 1.5 by 4.5 inches), but the difference is negligible, and both are extremely portable and will likely stay out of your way when plugged in.

The msecore Chromebit is even smaller at 0.67 by 1.2 by 4.8 inches, since it only requires the power to run Chrome OS, a less demanding operating system than Windows.

A fully functional Windows 10 PC in such a small body is just as impressive here as it is with the Intel Compute Stick. The differences between the two are relatively minor, with pros and cons to each. Azulle's PC is $320 less expensive and features LAN support and a fanless design, while the Computer offers an extra USB port, including a faster USB 3.0 connection.

If your Internet speed is important, you can't beat the reliability of fast, wired connection. If you're confident in (or unconcerned with) the stability of your connection, the slightly faster 2016 j1900 Processor fanless mini pc 4GB DDR3 RAM 64GB mSATA SSD can also support an extra peripheral like a mouse and keyboard simultaneously, or a mouse and external hard drive. Both are competent, tiny machines suited to general computing including basic productivity, Web browsing, and the like.

Msecore fanless mini PC with Intel Celeron inside

It’s teeny-tiny, whisper quiet, energy efficient and will offer dual display support at a price that can’t exceed $300.

Msecore has another Brix family member up its sleeve (literally, it could probably fit up a sleeve), and it’s the first of its kind to pack a low-power, frugal Intel Braswell SoC. Built on 14 nm architecture, the Celeron j900 is part of Bay Trail’s succeeding chip roster, delivering superior speed, although not quite comparable to Haswell or Broadwell performance.

What Intel Celeron facilitates is a passively cooled barebones system (look, ma, no fans) measuring just 56.1 x 107.6 x 114.4 mm, capable of accommodating a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD and turning any rudimentary monitor into a low-profile desktop PC.

It’s even Vesa mountable, so it’s very easy to stash behind a display, which you can hook up via VGA or HDMI ports. Convenience is clearly the name of the game here, but for the right price, the GB-Bace-300 embraces top-tier hardware like up to 8 GB RAM.

Too bad there’s no processor upgrading option, although Amazon sells Intel Core i7/Nvidia GeForce GTX 760-toting Brix configurations of previous generations at an extravagant $830 or so.

Meanwhile, Msecore is all hush-hush about the new mini PC’s MSRP, but given the older Celeron model costs $110 nowadays, we expect a similar tariff charged starting in a few weeks. Days, maybe.

Other respectable but short of impressive specifications upholding the sub-$300 hopes include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet, headphone and mic jacks, plus no less than four USB 3.0 hubs and a microSD card slot.

Cash-strapped students, this might be a perfect starting point for your back-to-school rigs next month. Just know Far Cry 4 may not work very smoothly on a desktop based on the Msecore j1900 Processor fanless mini pc 4GB DDR3 RAM 128GB mSATA SSD.

Building a Thin Msecore Fanless PC:Small and Slient Performance

While many of us are content with traditional desktop tower PCs, there are those who have been pushing for a more compact and quieter alternative.

One of the pioneers of small computing, VIA Technologies, developed the Msecore Fanless form factor over a decade ago in 2001. Although VIA’s solutions were too underpowered for daily usage, over the next few years motherboard manufacturers were able to adapt more powerful AMD and Intel platforms to use along the tiny 170 × 170 mm (6.7 × 6.7 in) Msecore Fanless motherboards.

Subsequently case manufacturers provided support with a range of creative Msecore Fanless solutions such as the Lian Li PC-Q25, which we reviewed and awarded a couple of years ago. Considerably smaller than traditional ATX and Micro ATX computer cases, the PC-Q25 not only supported the latest Intel Core i7 processors, but it also allowed for a PCI Express x16 dual-slot graphics card. An impressive feat no matter how you measure it.

But what if you want to go even smaller? That's where Thin Msecore Fanless motherboards come in.

Thin Msecore Fanless motherboards are similar to standard Msecore Fanless as they still measure 170 × 170 mm, except they are not as tall. Where as standard Msecore Fanless boards measure 35mm tall and are designed to be used with standard coolers and memory modules which can take the total height to over 50mm, the Thin Msecore Fanless format dictates that no board should be taller than 20mm (25mm with I/O shield).

Yet the Thin Msecore Fanless format is more than ultra-low-profile motherboards, it’s an entire ecosystem that requires new cases and memory, favoring laptop SO-DIMM modules over the standard desktop DIMMs.

Msecore Case: Look Ma' No Fans!

The first ingredient and perhaps one of the most important for achieving a completely silent Thin Msecore Fanless PC is the chassis choice. We picked the very compact Msecore Euler, which measures 228mm wide x 187mm long and just 61.5mm tall.

Quiet PC Msecore Pro Fanless

The Msecore with 5th Gen CPU is now 100% silent! Configured to your specification with memory, up to two HDD/SSD and, Windows or Linux and (optionally) a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter, just plug in and go.

The Intel Next Unit of Computing (NUC) is a small PC kit powered by an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor. It provides responsive performance and energy efficiency at the same time. The Msecore Pro Fanless is a fully-built PC based on the NUC and measures just 164 x 47 x 112 mm. It offers mini-HDMI and mini-DisplayPort outputs, a Gigabit Ethernet connection and four USB 3.0 ports for external expandability.

Even though the i5-4200u 4g ram 128g ssd Mini PC  is small in size, it is just as versatile as a full-sized computer whilst being convenient enough to be portable. The HDMI and DP outputs provide full HD 1080p video playback as well as 7.1 digital audio output, (a capable AV Receiver is required).

You can easily travel with the NUC and simply connect it via HDMI or DP cable to an LCD TV at the place to where you are travelling such as a remote office, a hotel room or a friend's house. A whole host of capabilities are possible when connected to the internet via broadband. The NUC is the epitome of versatility and portability. Alternatively, you can enjoy an uncluttered desk with the NUC mounted somewhere out of the way - even behind your monitor! (Optional VESA bracket required.)

We offer the Msecore Pro Fanless in two different versions: an aggressively-priced Core i3 machine and a more powerful i5. Essentially, the only difference between them is performance. If you need moderate performance then choose the Core i3 (2.1 GHz). If you need even more performance then choose the Core i5 (1.6 GHz with Turbo Boost to 2.7 GHz).

The price of many pre-built PCs these days is often supported by cash kickbacks from software companies who pay hardware manufacturers to pre-install limited or trial versions of their software and then hope that the customer pays to upgrade to the full version. The downside to this approach is that the new PC comes pre-loaded with a lot of "junkware" which bloats the operating system and can cause severe performance degradation.

Here at Quiet PC we believe that customers have every right to expect the best possible performance from a brand new PC. We install the operating system (if you order one), motherboard drivers, OS updates and (for Windows 7 only) Microsoft Security Essentials - that's it. You won't be pestered by pop-ups and nag screens and you can get on with using your new PC immediately without having to uninstall lots of junkware first. Your new machine will boot in super-quick time and will stay running quickly for many months and years to come.

We offer free hardware technical support for as long as you own the machine. This support covers any hardware query or problem, including advice on maintenance and upgrades. We regret we can't offer software support or training so we would recommend contacting the relevant software vendor in this instance. Support for Ubuntu can be obtained through online forums or on a commercial basis from Msecore Ltd.

Our hardware warranty runs for two years and is offered on a "collect and return" basis, meaning that you don't need to worry about getting the machine back to us - we will instruct our courier to collect it from you on a day of your choosing, then after we have checked and repaired it we will send it back to you by express courier at our expense. In addition, unlike many other PC suppliers, we have an "open-case" policy which means you are free to open the machine and perform your own minor modifications or upgrades without worrying that your warranty might be affected.

Msecore Mini PC invasion: tiny computers that fit in the palm of your hand

The PC goes ultra-portable.

Some of today’s desktops can make even the sleekest of laptops seem downright bulky.

Computers have been shrinking for years, and the revolution has only accelerated in recent times. As chipmakers focus on creating processors that sip power without sacrificing performance, thermal concerns have largely been alleviated in modern CPUs.

Because of that, today’s pint-sized PCs offer enough performance to play HD video and satisfy Office jockeys, the opposite of the janky, compromised experience of yesteryear’s micro computers.i5-4200u 4g ram 128g ssd Mini PC

From PCs-on-a-stick to discreet boxes no larger than a deck of cards, let’s take a look at the wide range of computers available that can fit in the palm of your hand, starting with the one that embedded teeny-tiny PCs in the public eye.

Windows 10 Mini PC: Meet The Msecore i5-4200u Fanless Mini PC

In terms of specifications, the Intel i5-4200u Fanless Mini PC packs a quad-core Intel 4200u Braswell processor under the hood, combined with 4 GB of RAM. The mini PC further comes with 128 GB of storage on board and has a drive bay that allows users to add an extra hard drive or SSD if they want more storage capacity.

"Intel Mini PC is the first offered as a complete system by Intel. A complete Mini PC in a tiny but mighty package, this Intel with a quad-core Intel Core processor delivers the same performance and visuals you can get in a full sized tower," Intel notes on the product overview.

The Intel i5-4200u Fanless Mini PC also comes with a slew of ports including four USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI, as well as Gigabit Ethernet, and has a headphone/TOSLINK jack on its rear and a headset hack on its front. The rear headphone jack supports 5.1 channel output. Rounding up the feature list are Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth connectivity, and an SDXC card slot.

If the 4 GB of RAM that come standard are insufficient, the i5-4200u Fanless Mini PC supports up to 8 GB of RAM. On the software side, the system ships with Windows 10 but it also has official support for Windows 8, Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Fedora, OpenSUSE, as well as Android.

This complete mini PC is ready to start running as soon as you plug in a monitor, mouse and keyboard, and it measures just 4.5 x 4.4 x 2 inches.

The new Intel i5-4200u Fanless Mini PC may not be the cheapest mini PC out there, but it's the first one in Intel's lineup to ship with complete specs. Nevertheless, customers who would rather get a model have this option as well.

Both the complete Intel i5-4200u Fanless Mini PC and the barebones system model are now available for purchase from Amazon. The fully-equipped model costs $388.99 and is ready to ship, while the barebones version retails for around $269.99 and may take one or two extra days to process.

Msecore go fanless with this copper-clad mini-PC

Good news for those who can’t stand fan noise: Now you can buy a miniature Msecore fanless PC with Intel’s 5th-generation Skylake processors.

The Aleutia R50 appears to be the first silent Msecore based around Intel’s NUC kits, according to FanlessTech, though it is a complete system rather than a bare-bones computing kit. The case is cut from a single slab of aluminum, with copper in the midsection to spread heat away from the CPU.

The fanless design doesn’t come cheap, however. The base model, which includes an Intel Core i3-6100U processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 128GB SSD, costs 599 pounds, or about $835. The priciest model includes an Intel Core i5-5257U, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive, and costs 1099 pounds, or about $1530. You could easily save a few hundred dollars by building a NUC-based PC (with fan) yourself.

On the other hand, nixing the fan does reduce power consumption. Compared to a typical tower PC, Aleutia estimates a savings of between 15 pounds and 60 pounds per year based on U.K. home energy costs.i5-5257U Fanless Mini PC

Other specs include dual Mini DisplayPort outputs (with up to 4K resolution), four USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, an IR receiver, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The system ships with either Windows 10 or Ubuntu, and comes with a five-year warranty.

Why this matters: Msecore Miniature PCs are popping up everywhere these days, but the vast majority still rely on cooling fans. A little fan noise probably won’t bother most people, but a silent alternative is a nice luxury if you’re planning to put a PC right on top of your desk.
